Strong 8K TV on MAG and Formuler Set-Top Box

The setup
Find the MAC address
It is on a sticker underneath the box, in the form 00:1A:79 followed by six more characters. You can also read it on screen under Settings, System Settings, then About. Write it down before you order.
Give us the MAC at checkout
Choose MAG as the delivery type when you order and type the address in exactly as printed, colons included. That single detail is what the portal matches against, so one wrong character means the box will not be recognised.
Point the box at the portal
On the box, open Settings, System Settings, Servers, then Portals. Put Strong 8K TV in the name field and paste the portal address from your account into the URL field. Leave the second portal slot empty.
Restart the portal
Save, then restart the portal from the system menu. The channel list and the guide load on their own with no sign-in screen to get past, which is why this box is the one we recommend for setting up a relative.
Set the guide to your timezone
Under Settings, System Settings, Time, confirm the timezone matches where you are. A MAG box shipped from another country will otherwise show programme times several hours out, which makes an otherwise perfect guide useless.
Things that catch people out
- The MAC belongs to the box, not to you. If you replace the hardware, send support the new address and we will move the subscription across without charge.
- MAG boxes prefer a wired connection. The wireless on most models is adequate rather than good.
- If the portal loads but the guide is blank, restart the portal once more. The listings download runs after the channel list, and it occasionally needs the second pass.
